K9 KUVA MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

ThE History

The K9 Kuva Memorial Foundation was established by Kristi Bridgman, the owner of My 2 Scents K9 and a retired detective/deputy from the King County Sheriff’s Office with over 27 years of law enforcement experience. The foundation honors the legacy of her former partner, K9 Kuva, with a focus on supporting law enforcement agencies and school districts. It underscores the vital role K9s play in promoting safety and security through deterrence, intervention, and prevention.

In 2011, Kristi was selected as the drug dog handler for the Eastside Narcotics Task Force (ENTF), working with K9 Kuva. She served in both plain clothes and uniform, deploying Kuva for her agency and others. Kuva retired shortly after the legalization of marijuana, having served four years. Post-retirement, K9 Kuva continued to serve by attending demonstrations for citizens academies and schools, as well as being an honored guest at Special Olympics events, Shop with a Cop and National Night Outs across King County.

Kristi's career in law enforcement was driven by her passion for drug enforcement, including prevention and intervention efforts. Her dedication to community engagement and public service has been a cornerstone of her work, ensuring that safety and well- being are prioritized. Additionally, her love for helping K9 teams excel is evident in her commitment to providing resources and training that enhance their effectiveness. This passion is what inspired the creation of the K9 Kuva Memorial Foundation, ensuring that the legacy of K9 Kuva continues to promote safety and support within the community.

THE LEGACY CONTINUES

K9 Clover: Following in Kuva's Pawprints

Meet Clover, our dedicated drug detection K9, born in December 2022. Following in the legendary pawprints of K9 Kuva, Clover is committed to promoting safety and security through diligent detection work. With a keen sense of smell and an eager spirit, Clover is making significant strides in our mission to support law enforcement agencies and school districts.

Clover also actively engages with both young and old through educational demonstrations and interactive searches, bringing communities together and fostering a deeper understanding of the vital role K9s play in safety and security. Whether at schools, community centers, or public events, Clover’s enthusiasm and expertise leave a lasting impression on everyone she meets.

When she's off duty, Clover loves anything involving water—puddles, buckets, ponds, you name it! Her favorite toy is the tennis ball, and she often delights us by running around with two in her mouth.
